As previously mentioned in an recent blog post made earlier this month, growing up I’ve always struggled with my self confidence while speaking in front of an audience and large crowds. But what I didn’t mentioned was that when I was younger I had a speech impediment which made it difficult for me to read out loud.
Earlier this month we visited MediaCityUK and took a tour of the BBC studios. During the original tour visit we had the opportunity to volunteer to be a host for a mock news cast. I was so thrilled to see the studio but incredibly nervous and timid to volunteer. However, those feelings shifted when I collected courage to volunteering to host a mock news cast in a more intimate setting at the University of Lincoln.
Honestly, I can not believe I was able to fulfill my childhood dream of doing a news segment as a anchor woman! Even though it was just to practice while staying at the University of Lincoln. 😉
I am obsessively grateful for the confidence that I have developed from stepping out of my comfort zone from the makeup tutorials and live videos that I have done over these past few years.
